  • If you miss a class or are missing handouts, go to your course page to download notes or handouts
  • Senior Sciences - Evaluation Policy - this document contains information about the science department's policy with regards to evaluations, and missed tests and assignments

Need Extra Help?

  • You can find Dr. Lim just about every lunch hour and most days after school in the physics classroom (Rm. 203);
  • Rm. 203 is also open most lunch hours for quiet study or work

Careers in Physics, Summer Programs and Awards:

  • Ontario Science Centre Summer Camp volunteer opportunities "From time to time, the Ontario Science Centre looks for enthusiastic teen volunteers with an interest in science and technology to contribute to our Sleepover and Camp programs at various times during the year. If you are between 15 and 17 years of age and you enjoy working with children and youth, volunteering at the Ontario Science Centre could be a very rewarding and enriching experience for you!" The Ontario Science Centre usually recruits in January - please check the website for an application package at that time.

  • We Made It! (Ryerson University Engineering) What do engineers do? This site was created by female high school students to encourage other students to imagine what a career in engineering would be like.

  • Focused Ultrasound High School Summer Research Program Summer research employment opportunity (July-August - 2 months) - the Focused Ultrasound Group at Sunnybrook Research Institute is looking for students who enjoy sciences and math to experience working in a lab environment to gain enriched, hands-on knowledge in the fields of physics, engineering and biology.   • Research Opportunity Program in Engineering (ROPE) Summer research employment opportunity (July - 1 month) - work with engineering researchers at Ryerson University, aimed primarily at female science students who have just completed grade 11. Deadline for application:

  • University of Toronto DEEP Summer Program The DEEP Summer Academy provides gifted high school students from across the world with the opportunity for advanced study in a variety of engineering, technology, business and science disciplines. Opens for applications from February to March.

  • York University Helix Summer Science Institute Helix is a high school enrichment program designed exclusively for high performing students who have a strong interest in science and mathematics. Helix consists of a series of week-long, noncredit courses, for students in Grade 9-12 that run for the month of July.

  • York University Spark Science and Engineering Summer Research Award
    spark is an award of up to $4000 allowing aspiring young scientists and engineers to participate in ground-breaking research at York University.
    Winners of the award will join a research group in the Faculty of Science & Engineering at York University for up to two months (in July and August). Under the guidance of the lead researcher you will assist in experiments, gather and analyse data, conduct literature searches, consider the design of future experiments, and write reports on experiments and other activities.
